Utah Issues is a 26 year-old,
statewide nonprofit organization, whose mission is to improve the
quality of life in Utah by seeking long-term solutions to the problems
of poverty through research, education, policy advocacy and community
development. Over the years we have worked closely with the State
Legislature to provide information on poverty related problems and
solutions around issues of affordable housing, health care access,
welfare reform, tax policy and poverty in general. Utah Issues believes
that low-income people do not choose to be poor, that they will respond
to supportive opportunities that encourage self-sufficiency, and that
all Utah citizens benefit when the needs of disadvantaged people are
adequately addressed.
