the supervision of the Community Partnership Manager, is responsible for
volunteers as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards.Must have the physical
ability to lift 40 pounds. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or
without accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative
of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ·Coordinate
with the Community Partnership Manager to act as an advocate and
spokesperson for Head Start families and help develop a better
understanding of the families served.Must
be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule. ·Serve
as an advisor to and provide training to the Policy Council.Work directly with the
Policy Council to fill community seats. ·Ensure
that the volunteer program is in full compliance with Head Start policy
and performance standards.
Actively recruits volunteers from the community,
colleges and businesses and initiates an inter-agency agreement with
each
Maintains communications with community agencies,
parent groups, and other component coordinators in the interest of
ongoing volunteer recruitment.
Acts as contact person for volunteers from the
community
Develop activities to provide volunteers with
both formal and informal recognition on an ongoing basis.
Oversees United Way Day of Caring and other
community volunteer projects and coordinates with essential staff.
Maintains accurate recordkeeping files on Head
Start community volunteers.
Work closely with the Community Partnership
Manager and fiscal representatives to ensure compliance with all
regulations regarding the valuation of donated services and their use
as part of the non-Federal matching funds requirement.
Create and develop new In-Kind opportunities for
use as part of the non-Federal matching funds requirement.
Develops materials and ensures that volunteers
are oriented, and complete their background checks and TB testing.
Conduct appropriate screening, interviewing and
placement of volunteers.
Have the ability to speak and provide
presentations to a variety of groups including professionals and board
members.
Be willing to attend seminars, complete
continuing education courses and read publications for further
education about volunteer management and organizational theory.
Pursue Professional endorsement through the
Association for Volunteer Administration.
Completes other projects as assigned
Skills
Knowledge of various computer word processing and
spreadsheets software

This position is required to drive as part of

owned vehicle only as part of the job duties, therefore a valid Utah
drivers license must be maintained at all times while employed in this
position. The Agency liability insurance carrier will, at new hire and
annually, review the driving record of individual to determine
