The Salt Lake Community Action Program/Head Start is accepting applications for:

Job Title:                  Comprehensive Housing/Financial Counselor

Job Description:    Under the supervision of the Emergency Services Director, is responsible to provide comprehensive housing/financial counseling to low/moderate income households. All counseling efforts focus on preserving home ownership, educating potential home buyers, and stabilizing the management of the home.

Qualifications:         Four years of housing counseling experience preferred or combination 4 years of higher education and experience. Must be detail oriented,  organized, self starter, dependable, ability to make independent decisions, ability to maintain rapport with funding resources, community agencies, mortgage lenders and mortgage insurers.

Skills:                         Must have knowledge of housing counseling techniques, mortgage financing and refinancing programs of various programs, fair housing laws and discrimination practices, budget construction, money management, foreclosure processes and knowledge of mortgage interest rates. Preferred knowledge of HUD, VA, Housing Finance Agency, mortgage banking and title companies practices and procedures, bankruptcy procedures, eviction codes, financial planning and use of credit. Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.

Work Hours:            8:30am – 5:00pm

Wage:                        $14.74 - $19.77 per hour - based on education and experience.

Child Development Associate (CDA) or currently enrolled with completion required within 2 years of hire.

Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.

Wage is determined by experience and education.

Team Associate

$9.46 - $11.49 hr. + Benefits Available

Wage is determined by directly related experience.

Substitute Teachers

$9.46 hr.
