HEAT Program

The Home Energy Assistance Target Program helps low-income households with their heating utility bills. Employment

Employment must be obtained in order to secure housing. The CAP Employment Program helps to fill that requirement. It is a federally funded program that was created to help low-income and homeless people find jobs. The goal is for all participants to find adequate employment to meet their financial obligations.

Paula Oakey, our Employment Coordinator, develops job opportunities for the program by contacting prospective employers and by weekly updating job openings. Before being referred to prospective employers, applicants are pre-screened in order to help match their skills and needs with job descriptions and requirements. Many employers in the community have been participating with CAP for a number of years. They continue to send their job announcements on a regular basis. Monthly follow-ups are done with each client to assess progress.
