I wanted...to let you know how very much I appreciate your program! At a time in my life, when things haven’t been so good, you were there with a helping hand. I had applied and was approved for your “winterization” program late last Fall. For the past 6–7 months your team has helped weatherize our home.
I thought you and your team might be interesting in our story. I think that’s probably what makes your job rewarding is seeing how your efforts have helped someone in need. my husband of 27 years passed away suddenly 2 1/2 years ago. We owned a nice home in West Valley, but were in some financial trouble and at the time of his death, we were in the process of working with a bankruptcy lawyer, but hadn’t signed any papers yet. When my husband died, I had to decide what to do financially, and I eneded up letting our house go to short sale. Me and my 14 year old daughter and lots of family set about selling practically everything we owned in order to be able to move to a two bedroom apartment. It was quite a task downsizing to fit into a 2 bedroom apartment from a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2 car garage home. I didn’t take out bankruptcy and worked with out debtors to settle our debts. We lived in an apartment for about a year, which wasn’t really working out for us. I had barely enough money from a small life insurance policy to settle our debts and had a little left over. I decided for our future that it would be cheaper rent for us to pay a lot fee on a mobile home than it would to pay rent anywhere else. With the little bit of money I had left over I purchased a mobile home. It was really a good option for us, but after buying it, I realized it needed quite a bit of help. Within the first week of moving in the washer overflowed and flooded my daughters bedroom, the water heater went out, and I received a letter from the insurance company that they wouldn’t cover my home unless I put a new roof on. needless to say, I was feeling pretty defeated. I had no more money and I earned very little income, so my mother-in-law saw a brochure about your weatherization program and mentioned that maybe I should apply. I am not used to receiving help, I was usually the person giving the help. Since my husband passed away, I have had to take some steps back and realize that it’s okay to accept help. When I applied with your program, I was told that you don’t do roofs, but referred me to Assist Utah. I applied with them and was approved to get help with my roof!
I feel so bery blessed to have had all the help that we have received. Your program and people have been so very amazing. Everyone that has come to our home has been wonderful and friendly. Your assistance in our time of need has been a silver lining in our lives.
I am truly grateful to your workers and the weatherization program. You were able to help me and my family stay warm and all the while save on energy. Each time someone came out to do work. They were so nice and polite. I can’t begin to tell you what a difference you have made for my family.
I had work done on my home in the year 2010/2011. I want to thank you for all the work done on my home, doing things needed, but I couldn’t afford. The workmen were very efficient and very considerate of the work being done at my home. The inspector was especially good. He talked to me about everything and was very considerate of my concerns and questions. From the bottom of my heart... thank you.
I would like to take the opportunity to say your program is wonderful. Our home is almost 50 years old. It was in need of lots of repairs. Thank you for replacing the three windows. The insulation throughout the house sure have been a blessing. Fixing the draft in the doors, the garage, the caulking that was done, repairing the ceiling, the vents and now the new water heater. I look forward to my utilities going down. All of your workers took the time to explain whatever they were doing.
I would like to say thank you very much for everything you have done for my family and me last year. I was out of heat for 3 weeks. I tried everything possible for getting heat in my home, but everything failed. When I called the weatherization program they were there the next day! I had heat that next day. I want to thank you all for everything you have done for me and my family. You are all a blessing! Without all of you I don’t know what I would have been able to do. So again, I thank you all with all my heart. you are very wonderful people. It’s nice to know that you can go to places like the weatherization place when you so desperately need help.
I just want to tahnk you for all you have done for me through the Community Action Program.
I am so thrilled with everything... there are no more frozen over back doors, no more wearing sweats because it’s no longer drafty, there’s much less noise from all the construction on Bangerter Highway. I can set my thermostat lower and it stay comfortable longer. I like the blanket on my water heater and you even got me a new refrigerator. I feel like it’s been Christmas for a long time.
When I asked for help with my back door, I had no idea you would do all you did for me.
Thank you, thank you, thank from the bottom of my heart. Your organization is awesome to help people the way you. Thank you ever so much.Sonja Dove
I wanted to say thank you honestly it’s just not enough! I never thought I’d be put in the situation I’m in today knowing whatI need to do for me and my kids, but yet not having the means to take care of the house. I had no idea that there was all the help out there until you showed me. I wouldn’t have ever known where to begin to look. One of the hardest thing I have ever had to do was come in and ask for help, but with your care, compassion and understanding it made it a lot easier. I’m so glad to know that you made it and found your happiness due to similar circumstances leaving me hope for brighter days! From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much and know that you forever changed someone’s life. I will always remember the complete stranger who was willing to help me out in the most sensitive time in my life who also restored my faith in humanity because very few people are willing to lend a helping hand anymore and the amazing part is you can simply sum it up as all in a hard days work for you. To this day I cry when I think about what you did for me.
I feel I have to personally thank you for your help that you have freely given over the past few weeks. The holidays are always a busy time for us. I want to take this time to tell and all that need know. You both did great work. My home looks better and it is of more comfort. Also you both did great in taking care of any mess that was made. I want to thank you again.
I wish to note your excellence in program management and service performance. Your visionary leadership and innovative Head Start and Early Head Start initiatives to enhance children’s educational, social and emotional development help disadvantaged children build a solid foundation for academic achievement, and provide support for their family and community.
It's people like those that helped my family in a time of need that make me want to be a better father. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know one day I will repay the favor of kindness and love.
My daughter is in Head Start and just started this year. I can’t believe the progress she has made. I am amazed by what she has learned and how far she has come.
